Women’s wisdom fueling the future – From ideas to innovations in leadership, technology and social change.
As part of the NEXT 50 anniversary celebrations of the Seattle Center in the month of “Innovation Economy and Commerce”, we will showcase women’s innovativeness in order to develop practical solutions for a more sustainable economy.
We identify and highlight 50 innovative women who are changing the world in the areas of leadership, technology/ science and social change, and whose ideas we can learn from and be inspired by, and can leverage in order to build a more sustainable future for us all.
Why?
During the current economic recession, women are rarely heard and seen in the discussion about economic recovery. The purpose of the summit is to explore how and where women are currently active participants innovating in impactful ways at both micro and macro economic levels. This conversation will not only increase our understanding and awareness but also inspire us to consider our everyday choices and their consequences in the future; how each of us – individually and together – can be more innovative for the benefit of us all.
What?
WINS2012 is a conference that challenges women to think big, audacious and beyond conventional solutions. At the summit women across generations participate in the reinvention of our economic future in the areas of technology and science, leadership, and social change.
Innovation is a means to an end, a more sustainable future. Because the key catalyst to innovation is the human spirit we invite spirited people to the Women in Innovation Summit to explore the imaginative and creative ways we can impact our economic reality, to discuss and define how we can be active participants in the innovation economy.
Key questions
What would be possible if the ideas and innovations of women who are making a difference were adopted more widely? What if we had fifty ideas for innovative ways to build a more sustainable economy? What if we knew more about 50 innovative women around the world whose work is impacting our lives at micro or macro economic levels?
What are the challenges and issues women believe need to be solved in the next fifty years? Are women innovating incrementally or are they game changers? What breakthroughs do we need for creating a new, innovation economy? Where are women innovators? Who are women innovators? Who are the thought leaders, drivers and practitioners of innovative approaches?
What do women innovate? How do women innovate? Why would women innovate? What do women’s innovations do? How do women see themselves as innovators? Where do women get stuck on their path from an idea to invention to innovation? Why? What needs to happen for women to participate actively more in the process of innovation? What are the benefits for women to be recognized as innovators? How can we scale innovativeness?
How?
The Women in Innovation Summit is a series of thought-provoking talks by women thought leaders in the areas of leadership, technology and social change. Through facilitated creative processes women across generations learn from each other and collaboratively bring their ideas to light. We focus on the emerging influence and intelligence of women for the benefit of our future. This event is an opportunity to bring together women of different generations, color and ethnic backgrounds to converse, connect and commit to contributions that benefit us all locally and globally.
We will also showcase women’s best thinking, services and products at an exhibition. We are currently looking to identify the vendors aligned with the purpose of the summit.
How can you get involved?
